“How can you not have insurance?”
“Because I spent my money on the Clapco D29, the most impenetrable lock on the market today. It has only one design flaw, the door must be closed!”

Sir Alan Sugar has called for Thursday to be a "National Happy Day". Speaking in a GMTV interview about the new series of The Apprentice, he called for optimism in the UK press, at least one day a week.
It’s the moment UK viewers and fans of the apprentice have been waiting for, as the 5th series of the show gets underway, Sir Alan Sugar shared his views on the show and the economic situation in a GMTV interview with Kate Garraway yesterday.
When asked whether first impressions count when selecting the contestants for the show, Sir Alan replied
“You get an immediate impression of someone, but you don’t really get to know somebody until they get stuck in and start working for you for a bit. It’s the same in real life. You can only really tell what they’re like when it gets down to business… One shouldn’t do things on first reaction…As you start to see them you’ll warm to somebody, you’ll dislike somebody, and then as the weeks go on, you’ll change your opinion.”
When asked about reports that the shows producers had made that Sir Alan was going to be funny and compassionate sweet and lovely in the 5th series, Sir Alan replied
“I wouldn’t hold your breath for that one.”
Talk turned inevitably to the current economic climate, and Sir Alan was asked for his top tip to ride out the storm.
“First of all, we should all stop moaning, and if possible stop reading the newspapers, who continue to report doom and gloom. We’re in a tough time there’s no question of it. The good news is, having seen these things happen over the course of 40 years of business, is that we will be getting out of it, and we’ll look back on what we’ve gone through in the last few months and think ‘well how did that ever happen’….. No Panic, lets’ hope the banks have learned their lessons….I think that things will stabilise.”
Mr Sugar, whose wealth is estimated at £830m, said that he has all of the national papers delivered every morning,
“If you wanna get depressed you read the headlines, because It seems that’s the kind of journalism we have in this country. Perhaps we can have a "National Happy Day". Maybe we should make Thursday a National Happy Day, where newspapers are banned from reporting depressing headlines in them, and they perhaps should take the forefront in this, together with your good self, you should start off nice and happy."
The Apprentice will be on Wednesday nights 9.00pm on BBC 1 for the next 12 weeks
